SOS SCRUB
SOS Scrub contains: Couxcoux Coconut Oil based SOS Serum combined with organic: sea salt (detox), cane sugar (moisturize), ground coffee beans (stimulate & rejuvenate), lemon & lime juice (detox & cleanse), and turmeric powder (detox). These yummy ingredients will thoroughly cleanse, deodorize, exfoliate, MOISTURIZE, detoxify, rejuvenate, and nourish skin …. All In One Step …. while avoiding the dehydrating, harsh lye that’s in anything that lathers or foams.
Get wet in the shower, remove a body part from the shower spray and put on a pinch of SOS scrub. Massage outwards, spreading the scrub to a larger area, until most of the granules dissolve. Rinse lightly with water only. Repeat to all body parts. Get out of the shower and simply towel dry. Follow with a mist mist of SOS or GLOW Cleanse & Tone to balance pH levels and you’re set.
You will be clean, deodorized, exfoliated AND moisturized!
Should you need a little extra moisturizer on your shins, forearms or hands, check out our SOS or GLOW Salve.
NO SOAP?? …. WHY?
Soap is made of OIL (fat) and LYE (traditionally: hardwood ash – today: sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide) and LYE is EXTREMELY alkaline.
Lye might be good for hard surfaces, clothes, pots and pans or anything else that needs to be not greasy but it’s waaaaayy too alkaline for skin and it causes chronic flaky, crepey dehydration …. even on oily skin.
There’s no such thing as a “gentle soap” for sensitive skin – all that means is the manufacturer increased the ratio of OIL (synthetic or natural) and decreased the ratio of LYE.
The only reason our ancestors made, or used soap, is because they could not afford to use any of their fresh food supply to wash their skin. Often, they were starving or under threat of food shortages. Portions of fat, or drippings, from cooking meat and ashes from the fire were definitely something that could be spared for washing up.
Soap has been around for a long time but ancient people did not use soap for bathing or personal hygiene. They only used oils, leaves, teas and flowers to cleanse, purify and freshen their skin. Perhaps these ancient people knew that: it’s not the LYE that kills bacteria and virus …. it’s the coconut oil, or tea tree oil, or frankincense oil, or geranium oil, or carrot seed oil, or peppermint leaf & oil or today: …. triclosan.
So …. SKIP the LYE part right??? Go straight to the oils ….
ever seen Spartacus? Yum!! I could watch him “wash up” with oil all day!!
